Purpose of the role:
This position is responsible for developing and driving the implementation of FLSmidth’s strategy by growing the sales, market share and revenue across the business. Leads, mentors, and develops a sizeable, multi-faceted sales team in the achievement of strategic goals. Owns, strengthens and seeks out new relationships focusing on the provision of customer-oriented solutions covering the full lifecycle

with the key focus being strategic customer partnership.

The role is responsible for sales of all FLSmidth product offerings including Capital equipment, Consumable, Service and Technical solutions within the geographic/assigned region.

Job Scope:
Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

- Manage and build long term profitable customer relationships across the East/West region Develop and drive the implementation of FLSmidth’s strategy by growing the sales, market share and revenue across the business
- Makes significant contributes to business planning to develop sales strategies and plans that are consistent with the organisations overall mission, vision and long term objectives
- Manage all aspects of sales management within the region for the full FLSmidth offering (Capital equipment, Consumable, Service and Technical solutions ) - including: Develop maximum potential profitable volume from all markets; Identify, develop and monitor and analyse key sales performance indicators in accordance with strategic goals and business plans Prepares sales forecasts: establish targets and monitor the performance against goals set / Directs the constant appraisal of pricing and delivery methods and other policies and procedures of the department.
- Ensure the establishment and maintenance of effective sales training programs
- Pursues major prospects and leads with key clients maximising the organisations business interests
- Analyses and approves all expense budgets for sales team
- Leads, directs and evaluates the organisation’s the sales teams’ including the assigning of team goals and activities to achieve desired outcomes, and ensuring the group is adequately staffed with appropriate competent team members
- Manages financials for the whole of the geographic/assigned region, including achieve budget and develop maximum potential profitable volume from all markets for the full range of the company’s products
- In depth understanding of key competitors and their offerings and potential impact upon sales strategy, thereby providing market Intelligence related to competitor and market activity, and disseminate to relevant teams.
- In depth understanding of market trends and conduct assessments of long-term market to align with FLSmidth strategy.
- Personally support strategic objectives through the development of alliances with key customers.
- Provides sales and marketing input for executive management reporting
- Any other duties as reasonably directed by your Supervisor

What you Bring:

- A focus on Safety
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Metallurgy, Minerals processing or Chemistry and the equivalent knowledge acquired in whatever way is highly desirable.
- Tertiary qualification in Business Management, Marketing/Sales or equivalent would also be considered
- Proven track record of sound sales managerial and project management experience
- Minimum Eight (8+) years of experience with solid sales/business development experience
- Exposure or knowledge of mining or mineral processing is desirable
- Sound financial acumen and cost conscious with a demonstrated history of cost reduction
- Excellent commercial knowledge, communication and high level negotiation and influencing skills (for external and internal) while maintaining an exceptional customer service attitude.
- Ability to build strong internal and external relationships
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills in order to work with customers, contractors and other personnel on a daily basis
- Management and leadership skills involving effective delegation and teamwork with the ability to motivate others within and across functional departments
- Proven understanding and ability to implement risk management processes and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to deliver in a fast paced, changing environment while maintaining high attention to detail.
