Youth Justice Custodial Services aim to engage children and young people in change by addressing their offending behaviour and equipping them with the skills required for positive community participation.
Victoria has two custodial precincts that cater to their needs by offering innovative services aimed at reducing reoffending: Parkville Youth Justice Centre and Cherry Creek Youth Justice Facility.

**The opportunity**:
In the role of Team Manager, Aboriginal Liaison Officer at Youth Justice Victoria, you'll lead a team dedicated to supporting Aboriginal young people in custody. This pivotal position involves overseeing the delivery of culturally appropriate support and rehabilitation programs. Your leadership will ensure these young individuals receive the guidance they need for a positive reintegration into the community.
Working across Victoria's youth justice precincts, you will play a critical role in advocating for the cultural rights and needs of Aboriginal youth, while driving the effectiveness and impact of your team's efforts. **To be successful in this role you will have**:

- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Aboriginal community, both society and culture, and the issues impacting it.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and work effectively with the Victorian Aboriginal community.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop a team.
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with various stakeholders and support the needs of Aboriginal young people in custody.
