Our client, a Federal Agency, is looking for an APS6 Level Finance (Scheme Reporting) to join their team. The APS6 Level Finance (Scheme Reporting) is accountable under limited direction to undertake complex work that is guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents.

The position is a team membership position that may be required to perform work that involves team leadership and management responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing workflows of a team.

APS6 Level Finance (Scheme Reporting) will provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems. It may be required to coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support the agency's objectives,

You will be working full time hours, Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5pm in Geelong or Richmond with a competitive pay rate of $60.26 + Super per hour.

As an APS6 Level Finance (Scheme Reporting) you will be:

- Analysing and interpreting statistical reports to assist with the development of work plans and strategic planning.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure effective and timely implementation of projects.
- Coordinating and providing cost estimates for all internal and external requests for changes to systems.
- Developing correspondence for stakeholders, such as financial reports, corporate documentation and responses to ministerial submissions.
- Exercising appropriate delegations in accordance with legislation and guidelines.
- Managing quality assurance activities and outcomes including the use of integrity/error reporting and the coordination of quality audits.
- Preparing a range of written material including business cases, reports and corporate documentation.
- Undertaking quality assurance of feasibility and cost estimates, assumptions and justifications.
- Undertaking detailed financial analysis of branch/division's variance to budget and forecast.
- Undertaking financial administration and across the division's cost centres and projects, including budgets, monitoring, forecasting and accruals.

Key skills required for the role:

- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (charting, manipulation & pivot tables)
- Experience in financial reporting or working with financial information
- Highly developed skills in data analysis and report development.
- Ability to interpret and transform data into presentable dashboards
