The Payments domain in CBA brings together the process, people and technology assets supporting real-time, bulk electronic, cheques, high value and international payments processing for the Bank. The team have the monumental task of ensuring that 40% of the Australian economy are able to transact over $90 billion a day using the Bank’s services in a reliable manner. With the payments technology systems being at the heart of the Bank, almost every customer-facing channel relies on payments services in one way or another.

We are currently looking for a Crew Technology Lead for the Data Services platforms in Payments. As Crew Technology Lead, you will work closely with the business Crew Lead to deliver exceptional outcomes for our business stakeholders and customers. The Data Services Crew in Payments has stewardship over the Bank’s payments data to support development of new customer propositions and ensure compliance with regulatory obligations. You are responsible to build and lead the world-class data delivery capability across critical payments data platforms and highly visible change initiatives.

In this role, you will be part of the Payments Technology leadership team that is led by the General Manager Payments Technology. The team is accountable for technology strategy development, investment prioritisation, design integrity and modernisation through automation and partnering. You will also be part of the extended Payments Leadership.

**Do work that matters**

The Crew Tech Lead Payments Data Services is an Executive Manager level role and will report into the General Manager Payments Technology. You will work intimately with business leaders and technology partners. In this role, you will:

- Build a high performing team across Australia and India backed by a strong, results oriented and fun culture.
- Lead 8-12 squads in Payments that deliver sustainable, long-term value and growth in a logically cohesive product or service.
- Have accountability for the delivery of value on the platforms in your remit, service stability, risk management, and continually optimizing squad performance.
- Partnering on the articulation of the Crew strategy, ensuring alignment between business and technology strategies.
- Driving the technology roadmap ensuring alignment to the Bank’s reference architecture, enterprise data standards, simplification and modernisation agendas.
- Actively mature the risk culture of the team, buying down risk in a commercially viable way, whilst achieving compliance obligations.
- Actively contribute to making Payments Technology a world-class technology organisation.

**We’re interested in hearing from people who have**:

- Strong Technology & Data Engineering background
- Experience in leading significant teams (50+ FTE) operating in an agile model
- Demonstrated Financial Services experience
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in and around payments technology, such as Swift technology, International Money Transfers (IMT), Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS), Real Time Domestic Payments (e.g. NPP) and other Low Value Payments.
- Strong understanding of risk management and compliance
- Excellent spoken & written communication skills and proficient in productivity tools
- Supplier Management Experience
- Recognised Agile certification
- Technology or related tertiary qualifications
