Based in an idyllic rural setting in North Richmond NSW, San Miguel family residential service provides intensive, individualised support to vulnerable young parents and their children. San Miguel is a unique service that plays a critical role in keeping children safe and well and keeping young families together. Parents and children receive support from a multi-disciplinary team through a combination of on-site and community based interventions that ensure children are engaged in safe, developmentally appropriate activities and their parents are supported to set and pursue family and personal goals.

Our family preservation model is one of a kind in Australia. We are creative in how we work with families, we exist to meet the complex needs of children living with significant risks and aim to transform the lives of young parents and children. For us it is about the children and families and not about the numbers.
- The
**Support Officer** provides a wide range of support to help with the efficient and effective operations of our service.
Your role will include:

- transportation of clients to appointments, school, shopping etc
- cleaning
- child minding
- set up before and after events/functions/group activities
- set up units for new residents
- general support for the site

This position is permanent part time, 3 days per week (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday).

**what we are looking for**

You will be able to demonstrate compassion and understanding towards vulnerable young people and will have a genuine desire to be part of the solution by being a welcoming and supportive contact at the site. You should be able to demonstrate the ability to be flexible in time management and prioritising tasks.
- You will bring:

- passion, commitment and belief in young people
- 1-3 years’ experience in a similar role
- demonstrated ability to be discreet and confidential
- ability to work as part of a team as well as autonomously
- a drivers’ licence and confidence driving a minivan is essential
- experience or qualifications in childcare is desirable
