This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced educator to lead a dedicated Middle School team. The successful applicant will have a strong knowledge of secondary schooling and be at the forefront of high impact pedagogy. In addition the person who fills this position will be recognised as an exemplary teaching practitioner and demonstrate excellence in their own classroom performance.

The Head of Middle School position is based at the **North** School of Trinity College. The position of Head of Middle School will be appointed as a four year contract, with an underlying substantive of a full-time permanent teacher paid at a Position of Responsibility (POR) Level 4 standard and with a 12 lesson allocation for the role. The POR Level 4 allowance ($25,578) is paid in addition to your teaching step rate (eg Teaching Step $118,569 + POR allowance). Demonstrated experience, or training, in Positive Education and/or Visible Wellbeing will be an advantage. The position description is attached.

This Middle School role has the following significant responsibilities:

- Staff leadership and management
- Student leadership and management
- Community relations
- Curriculum support
- General administration

**To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and attributes**:

- Suitable tertiary qualifications.
- Registered to teach in South Australia or be eligible to obtain registration.
- Have an understanding of and commitment to Christian education.
- Have the desire and skills to participate in the school's pastoral care programme.
- Have the desire and skills to participate in the College's co-curricular programme.
- Be passionate about understanding how learning occurs and teaching pedagogies suitable for secondary aged students.
- Be able to build and lead a cohesive staff team with a common vision.
- Have the interpersonal skills to quickly achieve trust and respect from the teaching team.
- Be able to respond positively to the expectations of a modern school.
- Be able to set high standards for student learning and teacher performance.
- Be able to lead other staff in the use of high impact, evidence-based, classroom pedagogy.
- Have the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people both verbally and in writing.
- Have the knowledge of and a commitment to the principles of equal opportunity and work safety.
