**About the Business Unit**:
The Metropolitan Remand Centre is a 954-bed maximum-security facility for unsentenced male offenders located within the West Metropolitan Region, Department of Justice.

**About the role**:
Prison Industry officers have a major role to play in ensuring compliance with prison and prison industry procedures and particularly with Occupational Health and Safety issues in industry areas.

At MRC, Industry Officers will play a significant and important role in training and assessing prisoners in relevant accredited trade skills units according to the specific work environment.

**About you**:
To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Qualified in a Trade area related to the needs of the Horticulture/Maintenance and preferably also to be qualified Certificate IV Training and Assessing to formally Train and Assess prisoners in that trade area.
- Sound knowledge of OH&S requirements relevant to the trade area, relevant legislative responsibilities related to employment supervision and training of industry workers.

This includes evidence of three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine required by the department (from time to time).
