**About the Role**:
**Key Responsibilities include**:

- Ensure that the highest standards of education and training are realised in educational programs and services provided to students and industry clients to ensure the Institute maintains its position as a leader in the delivery of foods, hospitality, tourism and events programs.
- Provide excellent leadership to a team of teachers for the benefit of students, their employers and industry.
- Ensure compliance within the Food Processing and Industry Training programs with the legal requirements expressed through the Institute policies and procedures, applicable to teaching and assessing at William Angliss Institute.
- Take a lead role in the development of operational plans within the teaching program to achieve Institute strategic goals.
- Advocate and take a lead role in the Institute’s quality system, which is based on the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015 (SRTO) by ensuring the implementation of the overall standards and requirements of the relevant regulatory authorities within the program team.

**Key Selection Criteria**:

- Applicants require an approved degree, diploma or certificate in a relevant vocational area and approved industry experience.
- An approved course of teacher training accredited at Australian Qualifications Framework Level 6 which includes supervised teaching practice and studies in teaching methodology or equivalent and a Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAE 40116).
- Demonstrated ability and experience to lead a team of teachers, to plan, teach and assess in a range of units in the Australian Meat Processing (AMP) and the Food, Beverage and/or Pharmaceutical (FBP) training packages or accredited curriculum, in the areas of Meat Processing and Food Science and Technology. Familiarity with the Tourism and Hospitality (SIT) training package is an asset.
- Proven experience in strategic planning within teaching programs.
- Experience in the management of all aspects of the student life cycle.
- Ability to research and develop appropriate teaching materials and methods of assessment, and adapt delivery and assessment to meet student needs using appropriate technology in a diverse teaching environment.
- Knowledge of current trends in the Food Processing industry and a network of industry contacts.
- Ability to contribute to, and be a part of, the teams working within the Food Processing and Hospitality Programs and ability to co-operate and communicate effectively with Institute staff, students and industry personnel.
- Comprehensive understanding of the current VET environment and the challenges and opportunities for the program and the Institute in that environment.
