The Department for Education has developed and Aboriginal Education Strategy 2019 to 2029, to support the growth and success of Aboriginal children and young people. As part of this Strategy, an Aboriginal Workforce Plan 2021 - 2031 has been developed. This Plan is also the first Chapter in the department’s Workforce Strategy and outlines how we will build and grow our Aboriginal workforce. It identifies our commitment, how we will measure success and the key actions we will take in the first three years of the Plan, which we will review and build on in future years.

Reporting to and under the direction of the Project Lead, Aboriginal Workforce Initiatives and in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders, this role provides advice, project coordination and support to the initiation, planning, delivery and implementation of a range of deliverables within the Aboriginal Workforce Plan.

A key focus of this role is developing and integrating culturally sensitive stakeholder engagement strategies, plans and processes, along with developing and maintaining strong, effective stakeholder relationships both internally and externally.

**Qualifications**:
**Desirable**: Knowledge of contemporary education workforce issues, trends and policies and experience providing policy advice on departmental policy and policy implementation strategies is desirable.

**Special Conditions**:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Please note that department employees working in high risk environments are required to maintain up-to-date vaccination against COVID-19, with a TGA Approved Vaccine, or comply with the following reasonable, additional safety measures to mitigate risk in the workplace. Vaccination status must be disclosed and provided for sighting on request.
