**The Role**
We are seeking an experienced EL 1 - Contract Manager to join our Uncrewed Aerial Systems Management Unit (UASMU). This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to contribute to the management of complex contracts for Defence's Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS).

The EL 1 - Contract Manager will work with the UASMU Team and is responsible to the Director UASMU to lead and manage a specialised contract management cell who deliver complex capability to Defence. They are accountable for the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to the contract management function, and imparting an in-depth knowledge of legislative frameworks, government decision-making, and organisational mission and policy requirements.

They will exercise sound judgement to provide expert policy advice and engage in complex problem solving and issues management. They play a crucial role in ensuring that contracts are executed effectively, efficiently and in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations while contributing to the continuous improvement of UASMU.

The additional payment is a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP) which enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the rate of salary otherwise payable under the Enterprise Agreement (EA) to some or all of the jobs within a critical occupation(s) or discipline within a workplace.
