**What you'll be doing**
Within this imperative role you will provide mobile Community Acute Mental Health services for children and young people under 18 years of age and their families who require an assertive community mental health response. This includes providing rapid, developmentally appropriate intervention to prevent crisis situations, and providing care as close to home as possible to reduce disruption to family, community supports and schooling.
A primary aim is to prevent avoidable hospital presentations and admissions, and to facilitate early discharge where admission has been necessary.

**All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course). **Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.**
**Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.**
**Selection criteria to be addressed**:
- Recognised tertiary qualification in psychology, social work or occupational therapy, with current registration AHPRA (psychology, occupational therapy) or eligibility for membership with AASW.
- Demonstrated knowledge of family systems and ability to work therapeutically with families to improve mental health outcomes for children and young people.
- Demonstrated understanding of childhood trauma, child protection and domestic and other violence as they relate to child and youth mental health.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to utilise a range of information systems.
- Demonstrated skills in evidence-based practice, quality improvement and capacity to participate in research projects to evaluate and develop practice.
- Current unrestricted NSW driver’s licence and willingness to use same for work purposes (P2 acceptable).
