Position Summary and Role Purpose

This position is responsible for the provision of administrative support in relation to the Clinical

Services division. This includes preparation of reports, meeting documents and data entry. This

position will also create draft rosters and maintain rosters for the Inpatient Palliative Care Unit and

Surgical Services. This will involve completing daily timesheet verification and assisting the Clinical

Nurse Managers in replacing planned and unplanned leave.

Key tasks, Responsibilities, Outcomes and Activities
- Provides administrative support to the Clinical Services division
- Provides secretarial support to the Executive Manager Clinical Operations including

preparation and management of meeting documents
- Develop draft rosters in accordance with relevant employment conditions and policies for the

Palliative Care Unit and Surgical Services
- Ensure all rosters are filled as budgeted and in accordance with operational requirements in

collaboration with Clinical Nurse Managers
- Assist in coordinating the replacement of planned and unplanned leave
- Review and action timesheet variations to the roster
- Assist with Inpatient Palliative Care Unit reporting requirements
- Other administrative duties as required

Work Health, Safety and the Environment
- Adhere to policies, procedures and standard operating procedures
- Report incidents, hazards and injuries
- Use personal protective equipment as required and directed
- Raise WHS issues with WHS representative/s
- Promote a safe work environment by assessing the work environment and not misusing or

bypassing systems of equipment
- Perform hand hygiene

Selection Criteria

Essential
- Current National Police Check (no more than six months old)
- Demonstrated relevant experience in an administrative and secretarial support environment
- Experience in the development of rosters using electronic rostering systems
- Strong people management skills to enable effective working relationships at all levels including

highly developed oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience working towards tight deadlines
- Well-developed computing skills, particularly Microsoft suite
- Excellent organisational, self and priority management skills
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality

Desirable
- Understanding of the Fair Work Act and enterprise bargaining agreements
- Experience working in the health industry
- Certificate IV in Administration or other relevant qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience developing and managing rosters
