**About the Role**
As the General Manager - Sport Development, you’ll lead the strategic planning and delivery of sport participation and performance programs, development and support of the University’s affiliated sporting clubs and advocacy and support for its emerging and elite student-athletes.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Provide oversight and coordination of major projects, strategic tasks and manage the general operations of the Sport Development Office.
- Lead Sport Development staff and manage key relationships with advisory groups, internal and external partners and volunteers.
- Manage funding and capital resource allocation to the Sport Development Office.
- Provide high-level advice to the Director, MU Sport Board and other key sport stakeholders with regards to developments in law, government policy, sport and recreation technology and industry practices relating to sport.

**Who We Are Looking For**
We are seeking an experienced senior manager with a background in strategic planning and delivery of sport participation and performance programs. You will have highly developed organisational and analytical skills including an ability to prioritise competing workloads and met deadlines in a high pressure, multi-faceted environment. You will demonstrate advanced leadership skills to lead Sport Development staff, club-supported staff and volunteers to achieve agreed outcomes. Your highly developed communication skills will enable you to make informed decisions and/or recommendations regarding your key responsibilities.

You will also have:

- Postgraduate qualifications in Human Movement, Sport Management, Business Administration, Recreation Management or equivalent.
- Proven successful program management experience in a sport industry position including strategic planning and implementation, supervision of staff, financial and budget management, event management and team management.
- A commitment to quality relationship management and a highly developed service-focussed skill set to interact and negotiate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders including University staff, students, volunteer committees and external partners.

You will also ideally have:

- High level understanding of the structure and operations of state and national sporting organisations including their high-performance programs.
- Knowledge of the structure and operation of UniSport Australia.
- Experience working with volunteer committees and advisory groups.
