**About the role**
In this role, you will supervise and lead staff and contracted services engaged in infrastructure maintenance activities across the municipality. The role will ensure work is effectively delivered to established quality standards, within set timeframes and in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety guidelines.

**Work type: Permanent full time**
**Classification**: Band 5 ($76,355 - $86,617 pa plus super)

Key responsibilities include:

- Actively promote Council values in all aspects of your duty and that of the City Works depot staff
- Provide effective leadership to a team of field staff and sub-contractors, focused on delivering high-quality outcomes through the continued development of team safety, capability and engagement.
- Competently coordinate the delivery and performance of in-house works crews through the efficient monitoring and use of physical, human and financial resources.
- Promote a safety culture, ensuring staff and sub-contractor compliance to relevant OH&S policies and legislation, safety regulations and Codes of Practice.
- Order goods, materials and services, prepare, check and process (within approval limits) the necessary documentation including verification and authorising of documentation.

**About you**
To be successful in this role, you will have a Certificate IV in Construction, people or business leadership or equivalent to 5+ years work experience in civil operations and civil maintenance operations or previous history of leading people in an organisation environment.

Essential:

- Experience in supervising civil maintenance operations.
- Experience in leading field-based teams.
- Demonstrated ability in promoting a safety culture.
- Some experience in cost and quantity estimation, basic budgeting and expenditure monitoring.
- Genuine interest and experience in driving continual improvement activities and delivering cultural change in a challenging environment.
- Good understanding of managing and improving team through data analysis
- Current Victorian Drivers Licence
