**About the Role**

CareSouth has an exciting opportunity for a Carer Engagement and Support Team Leader to join the CareSouth team in a permanent, full-time capacity. The role will be based out of our purpose built Head Office in Nowra.

Reporting directly to the Regional Manager this pivotal role will be overseeing the carers experience by providing support throughout both the recruitment and placement process.

As the Carer Engagement and Support Team Leader, you will be responsible for:

- **Carer Recruitment**: Provide guidance to your team in implementing the carer recruitment strategy to meet targets and timeframes.
- **Managing a team**: Supervise Carer Recruitment Caseworkers within the Southern and Riverina regions.
- **Case Management**: Support CareSouth carers to develop their skills in their role as authorised carers to best care for the children in their care.

In consultation with the Regional Manager, the Team Leader will be responsible for the leadership, implementation and delivery of a comprehensive recruitment strategy that meets targets and timeframes set in consultation with local leaders. This role will directly supervise Carer Recruitment Caseworkers within the region and will provide ongoing support, training and responsiveness to individual and shared needs across the regions. It will also oversee the carers experience with CareSouth is supportive and responsive to individual’s needs.

**The successful applicant will have**:

- Essential_
- Demonstrate a commitment to the safety of children, young people and people with a disability
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Sciences and a minimum 3 years working with children and young persons
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership capacity within the OOHC, Disability Services or Community Services sector or a sound understanding of the changing role of the carer through the Permanency Support Program
- Familiarity with, and expertise in, the administration and review and approval of carer assessments and training
- Demonstrated experience developing and contributing to engaging marketing strategies and campaigns in consultation with the Community Engagement team
- Proven experience in having difficult conversations including communicating unfavourable assessment outcomes
- Proven flexibility, adaptability and ability to respond and adjust easily to change in work demands
- High level written and verbal communication skills and advance computer literacy including familiarity with client management systems
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven effective interpersonal, conflict negotiation and resolution skills and to provide strong leadership under pressure
- Step by Step Training and Shared Lives qualifications
- Current Driver’s licence
- Willing to undergo a National Police Check and Working with Children Check clearance

- Demonstrated practice experience in assessments of carers and reviewing carer assessments
- Child Protection/Family Restoration/ Preservation
- Disability Services/NDIS/Person Centred Approach
