As a Clinical Case Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the account statuses of vulnerable clients and liaising with NDIS and HCP providers to ensure vulnerable participants have continuity of care when faced with funding exhaustion and to ensure each case is handled with sensitivity, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory guidelines.

This role requires a detailed understanding of funding structures and alternative care options and a proactive approach to safeguard clients' interests and continuity of care. You will work closely with healthcare professionals, clients, and their families to ensure the effective delivery of services and support.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Oversee and evaluate the individual situations of escalated cases of NDIS and HCP client accounts, ensuring case management is handled with the utmost dignity and respect.
- Develop and implement guidelines for conducting funding-based decisions that are transparent, compassionate, and compliant with all regulatory standards.
- Work closely with clients and their families to communicate the reasons and processes behind funding-based decisions, account status and care options whilst fostering understanding and maintaining trust.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to explore alternative support solutions for clients whose services are at risk of suspension due to funding issues.
- Maintain detailed documentation of all actions taken during the suspension process to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Provide staff with training and support on best practices for managing delicate client interactions and safeguarding our organisation's reputation during financial management processes.
- Stay informed about changes in NDIS and HCP policies, incorporating new regulations and funding opportunities into client care strategies.
- Advocate for the client's needs and rights, ensuring that all actions are in their best interests and uphold the organisation's ethical standards.

**Skills, knowledge and experience**:

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Social Work, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in case management, specifically within settings dealing with NDIS and HCP participants.
- Deep understanding of NDIS and HCP funding mechanisms and regulatory requirements.
- Strong crisis management skills and the ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and professionalism.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to negotiate and advocate effectively.
- Highly developed organisational and time management skills.
- Expert problem-solving abilities with a focus on ethical decision-making.
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach, with a commitment to maintaining the dignity of all clients.
