As a member of the Business Support Unit you will be part of a team that makes a difference by providing high-level business support to the IRS group, which is responsible for framing and driving infrastructure agenda for Queensland. The Business Support Unit, within the Office of the Deputy Director-General, is responsible for delivering executive and corporate support services (including finance, procurement, human resources, business administration, executive coordination, and executive correspondence) to the IRS group. In this role you will be required to work collaboratively with the Deputy Director-General, Executive Directors, Directors, the broader IRS group and the Department.

Your responsibilities
- Provide efficient and quality business support to ensure the efficient operation of the IRS group, including coordination of HR requests, finance, procurement, travel,records management, and other activities, ensuring quality and timely action. Work collaboratively as part of the Office of the Deputy Director-General to ensure the efficient operation of the group, including assisting team members as required. Manage the Business Support Unit mailbox, ensuring all items are actioned promptly. Support an environment where high quality services are delivered by continually seeking improvements in administrative systems and processes. Coordinate and monitor internal business requests for approval, ensuring appropriate delegations, approvals, and preparation of required documentation. Develop and maintain positive working relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders (including HR, Finance and Queensland Shared Services) on services and processes which support business operations. Actively engage in a team environment and contribute to a positive team culture.
