**About the Role**:
The National Parks and Wildlife Service is a division of DEW that conserves nature, parks and places that enrich our identity and benefit our community. With over 360 reserves covering approximately 20% of South Australia, the work of the Division supports broad goals associated with conservation and scientific endeavour, nature-based tourism and visitor services, community health and wellbeing, and reconciliation.

The Regional Operations Branch provides leadership and guidance to support the effective management of national parks and reserves across the state. The branch plays a critical role in coordinating the delivery of services and programs across a broad range of key functions and activities, inclusive of conservation and wildlife programs, national parks and crown lands programs and fire management. Through the Director, the branch will lead in establishing and maintaining partnerships with key regional partners and stakeholders and that the community understands and is actively engaged in the business of the National Parks and Wildlife Service.

The Regional Operations branch are currently seeking a Works Supervisor to join their vibrant team. The Works Supervisor effectively and efficiently manages the implementation of works programs which assist with land and natural resources management in the AMLR Region. The Works Supervisor supervises Senior Field Staff and Field Staff implementing works such as construction and maintenance of visitor facilities and services, land management functions, weeds control, land restoration, protection and monitoring, and assets management.

**Contract**:
Contract for up to 2 months

**Special Conditions**:

- A National Police Check is essential
- Will be required to participate in fire management or associated duties.
- May be required to participate in Biosecurity emergency response.
- The incumbent will be required to wear protective clothing in accordance with Departmental policy.
- Some out of hours work may be required.
- The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency operations including bush fire suppression activities, commensurate with their fitness and training levels. This may require at times, some out of hours work including participation in an ‘on call’ roster.
- May be required to work from another location within the Region or any Region or Management Unit within the State.
- The incumbent will be required to wear a uniform in accordance with service policy.
- A current Class “C” Driver’s licence and willingness to drive is essential.

**Remuneration**:
OPS3 - $65,606 min - $69,919 max p.a.
