The primary purpose of the Orientation Coordinator is to work as part of a team to develop, deliver and evaluate orientation projects, events, programs and resources that support the University’s student transition, engagement and experience, and orientation objectives.

**Your key responsibilities will include**:

- Coordinating and supporting the delivery of relevant, innovative, strategical and practical student orientation and engagement projects ensuring connected planning; timely development; guided engagement; disciplined execution and evaluation as well as systematic, effective processes and documentation.
- Contributing to, and initiating continuous improvement orientation programs and activities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of delivery.
- Providing routine and extraordinary orientation reports to management.
- Fostering an effective, positive team environment and building and maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders and community.
- Providing Orientation Coordination and planning for social and academic transition, engagement and experience needs of all student cohorts at key transition points.
- Positively and actively engaging as a professional member of relevant Orientation committees and working groups, delivering accurate, appropriate and timely information and advice to audiences developing successful working relationships with relevant staff across the University and within other higher education institutions.

**To be successful, you’ll have**:

- An equivalent combination of training and experience in project management or a post-secondary qualification in a relevant field.
- Extensive experience in program, project, and event management and delivery within a complex organisation.
- Evidence of experience in and commitment to provision of a positive student or customer experience.

- Travel to other campuses of the University may be required to fulfil the accountabilities of this role.
- Infrequent work outside business hours may be required (e.g. work at evening or weekend events)
- Deakin encourages staff to take recreation leave regularly to promote a healthier workplace. Leave must be taken at a mutually convenient time, which meets the operational needs of the University and, where possible, the staff member's needs. In this role, there are peak operational periods in which recreation leave may not be approved.
