**Tell me about their product**
The Selfwealth product leads the way in stock market investment for everyday Australians, driving down investment costs and operating one of Australia's easiest to use mobile apps and web platforms. It’s an online brokerage service, their product being the very first of its kind to offer a low-cost, flat-fee share and other investment (hello, crypto) trading for customers in both Australia and the US. Being smaller than bigger-banking alternatives out there, means they can (and do) innovate quickly. Selfwealth is a low bureaucracy environment, experience within startups, agency or SME tech firms is highly valued.

**What is Selfwealth looking for in a Lead Engineer?**
This role will involve a healthy touch of wrangling the legacy & then its greenfield projects galore Selfwealth are currently transforming and modernising every inch of their platform, migrating from a legacy.NET codebase and building out a TypeScript based serverless-first architecture on AWS + enhancing their native apps.
- You will lead strategic technology decisions on their platform rebuild from ideation to execution in collaboration with their Head of Engineering and Engineering Manager. You’re someone who has taken the initiative or led technical decisions at project level or higher before (it’s ok if you haven’t done this across a whole product before)
- You will lead their first greenfield fullstack team as they start building out Selfwealth’s new Typescript based services. You’ll either be a Typescript/JS dev or be a polyglot with experience in other modern languages and frameworks e.g. Go, Django, Scala, Ruby
- Selfwealth is on the journey to cloud native and there are still some unknowns. You’ll have previous experience within AWS code-native architectures, GraphQL, modern software delivery models with DevOps/DevSecOps best practices
- Selfwealth values an engineering culture that celebrates collaboration, innovation & building great products with customers at the heart of it all. You’ll contribute to inspiring better ways of doing things (e.g. TDD) + helping mature the product delivery model and mentoring your team from a technical perspective
