Ongoing & Non-ongoing (for a period up to 12 months)

A non-ongoing offer may result in conversion to an ongoing offer of employment, however this must occur within 18 months from the opening date of this advertisement.

**The Opportunity**

As a Workforce Analyst, you will be part of a small team working within the Employee Relations and Analytics section of People Branch. Our team deliver workforce data and analysis to support the executive in making evidence-based workforce decisions, workforce planning and HR strategy and initiatives.

You will:

- manage projects from start to finish, including the APS Employee Census, APS Remuneration Survey and the annual APS Agency Survey.
- analyse and present workforce data to generate business insights, including analysing Census results.
- conduct research and analysis on complex projects.
- develop and prepare self-service dashboards for internal stakeholders, using Microsoft PowerBI.

We are looking for an innovative Analyst to join the team and to be successful you will:

- have experience in HR systems (e.g. Aurion) and Microsoft Excel and be comfortable working with numbers, formulae and graphs.
- have excellent analytical and problem solving skills, and the intellectual curiosity to explore complex questions and opportunities.
- be a strategic thinker, who incorporates the broader context when solving problems.
- be able to plan ahead, manage competing priorities and not mistake tight deadlines for crisis.
- be customer focussed and quick to develop productive working relationships.

Experience in Microsoft Power BI or a similar data visualisation tool is highly desirable.
