The Team
The position of Principal Advisor, Coordination and Reporting forms a part of the Aboriginal Economic Development Group (AED). This Group leads work across the Department to support Aboriginal self-determination through employment and economic development. To this end, it is tasked with the implementation of the Yuma Yirramboi Strategy.
The Role
The Principal Advisor, Coordination and Reporting will be responsible for strengthening and reporting the growth of the Aboriginal businesses sector throughout the state by supporting the delivery of suite of programs within the Group. The position supports the strategic implementation of the Business, Wealth Creation, Accountability and Jobs pillars under the Yuma Yirramboi Strategy, identifying economic development opportunities with a range of Aboriginal interest groups, government stakeholders and key industry groups. The role will support and monitor the implementation of Yuma Yirramboi Strategy initiatives, existing projects and other key initiatives to ensure project management, reporting, and governance are in place.
The Principal Advisor is responsible for collaborating across the AED Group and the broader The Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions portfolios, to ensure effective coordination and reporting of government commitments to strengthen Aboriginal economic outcomes.
About You
- Experience in working with Aboriginal communities
- Excellence in building and maintaining relationships
- Providing strategic advice in the development, formulation, implementation and evaluation of policies, programs and strategies
- Experience in data systems, assessing information requirements, data extraction and analysis, activity and performance report
