The Patient Services Manager is responsible for the coordination and management of hospital operations, managing the human resource function for patient services staff, and managing several key teams.

**Key responsibilities for the role include**:

- Coordination and management of hospital administration functions
- Managing and influencing the broader patient services team
- Providing staff onboarding, orientation, training and performance management
- Managing the Health Information Services and Clinical Coding Teams, ensuring medical records are stored, retrieved and retained in line with hospital policies
- Understanding of hospital business processes and procedures in managing Health Information & Patient Services
- Managing and overseeing the Patient Administration System (iPM)
- Identifying and understanding the needs and expectations of customers
- Contributing to a strong team approach through open communication in team meetings and committees to enhance the unit, consumer care and teamwork
- Liaising with various internal and external stakeholders to consult and negotiate to achieve positive outcomes
- Developing, reviewing and implementing new policies and procedures

**The person we are seeking will have**:

- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the management of staff, including performance management and recruitment
- High level IT skills including the management of Patient Administration Systems
- High level oral and written communication skills, together with good interpersonal, organisational and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team and focus on meeting deadlines and interpersonal issues with the team
- A commitment to excellence in customer service
- Clinical data management and analytical skills
- Financial management experience
- The ability to influence successful outcomes
- An understanding of Health Fund contracts - preferred not essential
