An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and skilled leader to join the Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC) as Manager at the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
As Manager, you will be responsible for leading two dynamic VMC teams, the Community Engagement team and the Strategic Communications and Engagement team, to enable the VMC to celebrate, promote, and engage with Victoria's multicultural and multifaith communities.
This role will be responsible for guiding staff to coordinate activities with the VMC's key stakeholders, including the Regional Advisory Councils (RACs) and Multifaith Advisory Group (MAG), ensuring community engagement initiatives are strategic and outcomes focused. This position will also involve overseeing the development and implementation of communications plans to promote VMC events.
About you
- Demonstrated people management skills, including the ability to role model ethical leadership through decision making, interactions with people and motivating others to achieve shared goals.
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to lead and develop communication products and prepare high quality communications materials and reports.
- Demonstrated stakeholder management skills and proven capacity to develop effective relationships with stakeholders across a range of operating settings, including stakeholders within multicultural and multifaith communities.
- Proven experience in managing events and community engagement initiatives and a successful track record in leading a team to deliver events.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the issues facing Victoria's multicultural communities including unique challenges and opportunities, and a proven ability to communicate respectfully, effectively, and with empathy across cultures.
