The Princeton Group is looking for a Venue Operations and Functions Manager to take over The Monash Club at the Clayton campus. In this position, you will be responsible for venue management of all areas, functions sales, service standards, brand management, general admin, HR and financials.

Job description:
The Princeton Group is looking for a Venue Operations and Functions Manager to take over The Monash Club at the Clayton campus. In this position, you will be responsible for venue management of all areas, functions sales, service standards, brand management, general admin and HR and financials. You will be the person who represents the business. You will be the first and last person the guest see.

You are someone whose goals are to enhance the customer's experience, and meet sales and profitability goals whilst assisting the supervisors and staff with function spaces, and venue operations. You’re always willing to step in and help the team when it’s needed and want to lead by example.

Operational responsibilities;
- Performing HR duties such as recruiting, selecting, scheduling, counseling and disciplining employees
- Helping the company to promote high morale and communicate the company’s operating policies, customer issues and safety measures
- Performing financial predictions by preparing the annual budgets, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variance and initiating corrective actions
- Develop operations policies by evaluating and enforcing policies for products and inventory receipts
- Reviewing and approving operational invoices and forwarding them to account for payment
- Stock management and ordering - each department will be responsible for a section of the business
- Ensuring compliance with laws and regulations licensing, fair work, health department
- Making sure that all employees fill out the required legal documents
- Actively mentor staff by training, motivating, setting goals, and providing feedback
- Report on trends, and customers’ needs, keeping staff updated with a monthly newsletter created by department heads.
- Ensure the procedure are updated and maintained Maintain outstanding venue conditions, standards, ambiance eg lighting, music, temperature, cleanliness, hygiene
- Maintain brand identities and continue to build.

Event responsibilities;
- Oversee the flow of the guests within the venues and manage daily reservations - space out orders if we have an event running at the same time or loaded reservation times
- Liaise daily between Venue Front of House Managers and Head Chef to enable cohesion across the entire venue
- Oversee and proactively deal with guest queries and concerns
- Being familiar with regular guest’s dietaries and advising them on menu and beverage choices
- Promoting special ‘In House’ events eg - Wine tasting events, Happy Hour live music afternoons, learning to make coffee like an ST.ALi pro or End of Year Customer Party eg; using Mailchimp to promote and communicate to our clients
- Develop business strategies to raise our customer pool, expand customer traffic and optimize profitability.
- Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction through excellent service pre-empting clients’ needs or concerns
- Additional service duties as required

- Experience in Venue Operations and Event Management
- Excellent communication skills
- Organised and know how to manage the different areas without neglecting others
- Strong focus on food and beverage service and knowledge
- Ability to work in a team environment but also be able to work autonomously
- Willingness to grow and further develop skills
- Have strong brand awareness
- Strong focus staff training
- Finding new ways to grow business
