**The Role**
An APS4/5 governance officers within the Enterprise Governance and Management Branch of the Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG) Enterprise Headquarters is accountable, under broad direction, to perform and achieve policy, governance and strategic management outcomes.
The Branch works closely with our key stakeholders in Navy, the Departments of Prime Minister and Cabinet and Finance, as well as within the NSSG to deliver on key strategic priorities in support of the program of naval shipbuilding and sustainment.
A Governance Officer will have considerable level of strategic awareness and stakeholder engagement and will liaise with both internal and external stakeholders in relation to complex issues. They will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholder needs and expectations to achieve Defence outcomes.
**About our Team**
The Branch is a dynamic and operates at the strategic centre of the Enterprise Headquarters, delivering across multiple streams of work including:
- Governance and reporting including the development of cabinet submissions and the reporting of achievements.
- Managing Commercial arrangements, including the management of the Naval Shipbuilding College Contract and the Maritime Insurance Program.
- Establishing continuous naval shipbuilding enablers as a program under the Defence capability program architecture.
- Coordination of ministerial and parliamentary enquiries for the Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group.
- Management of the Group operating budget for the Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group.
- Strategic management of the internal and external narrative for naval shipbuilding and sustainment and continuous naval shipbuilding.
- Development and delivery of an overarching data and digital strategy for the maritime domain.

APS 4
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in relation to governance and reporting.
- Prepare governance framework documentation for review by senior staff.
- Draft correspondence for lower complexity policy queries.
APS 5
- Provide committee support to senior committees in support and draft procedural directions within specialist area.
- Assist in the development of specialist briefing material to supports senior executives.
- Formulate, draft and review committee and governance documentation
- Provide technical advice in specific areas of governance and reporting.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and represent the work area in delivering good governance and decision making practices for the naval shipbuilding and sustainment enterprise.
