CatholicCare Victoria has been contracted by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) Office for Youth to deliver an innovative and responsive service to vulnerable young people. The program aims to strengthen participants’ health and well-being, increase their positive participation in community, enhance their engagement in education and training and promote their career pathways into employment.

Empower Youth Program aims to bring together the resources of CatholicCare Victoria to provide holistic support to vulnerable and disadvantaged young people promoting positive outcomes.

**Specifically, the position is responsible for**:

- Supporting referrals to a range of services including drug and alcohol services, mental health and health services, housing, education, training, and employment providers
- Developing effective relationships and liaising with schools, training organisations, youth services, employment and training providers to promote services to young people.
- Working closely with the headspace Youth Advisory Committee, the Advisory group for the Empower Youth program
- advising on service delivery options, providing consumer feedback and service evaluation.

**To be considered for this position, applicants require**:

- Tertiary qualifications and experience in Youth Work, Welfare, Social Work, Employment Services or relevant discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering individualised service responses and interventions that promote community participation and engagement by young people.
- Experience in the effective use of Outcomes Star as a client activation and planning tool is desired.
- CatholicCare Victoria delivers some programs that require employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencing employment, unless there is a medical contraindication which prevents a person from being vaccinated. Please speak with our People & Culture team for further details._
