The GIANTS are on an exciting journey both on and off the field. With teams in the AFL, the AFL Women’s League and Super Netball competitions, the GIANTS truly are a club like no other.
On field, the AFL team has quickly grown into one of the competition’s most exciting teams with several players becoming household names across the country. Likewise, the on-field achievements of our AFL Women’s and GIANTS Netball teams are seeing the club connect with more fans and followers than ever before.
Off field, the club’s exciting, innovative, and fresh brand is growing as it engages with members, fans, the community and key stakeholders across Western Sydney, Canberra and Nationally.
The GIANTS’ AFL and AFL Women’s teams are based at the club’s elite training and administration facility in Sydney Olympic Park, with GIANTS Netball based adjacent at Netball Central.

**Description**:
The Head of Business and Foundation is responsible for developing new business and revenue opportunities, commercial prospecting and relationship management activity, with the role requiring knowledge and expertise in managing engagement with major corporate donors, trusts, Foundations and individual coterie members.
Reporting to and working closely with the Chief Operating Officer, the Head of Business Development and Foundation will operate with integrity and collaborate to ensure effective communication and work practices across the club.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
COTERIE GROWTH AND MANAGEMENT
Develop strategies and annual budgets across our Coterie Groups - the M7, Captains Club and Southern GIANTS coteries.
Develop and implement a lead generation and sales strategy to grow coterie membership and yield.
Build meaningful relationships with existing and potential partners to secure and maintain investment.
- Use personal network as well as the network of key stakeholder (for example Foundation Board, Executive Team, GIANTS Board, current members, and corporates) to develop new prospects for coterie groups.
Manage the servicing of coteries including providing regular updates on club progress as well as managing the calendar of events and functions.
Maintain and develop annual collateral for each coterie group and ensure servicing standards are best in class. Ensure feedback loops exist to measure standards and satisfaction.
Identify and develop options for potential new coterie groups - maintain an awareness of market developments and innovation across other clubs/codes.
REVENUE & OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT - GIANTS FOUNDATION
In consultation with the COO and Foundation Board, develop and execute the annual budget as well as the implementation of all operational activities, programs and events to ensure budgets are achieved.
Encourage and engage with the Foundation Board, providing support and when required direction for the benefit of achieving objectives.
Analyse data and maintain a good working knowledge of fundraising theory, data trends, governance and compliance and a solid understanding of the NFP sector that informs strategy and operational activity.
Work closely with the Partnership and Community Managers to increase involvement from each category in growing fundraising and bequests awareness and donations made to the club.
Oversee the Foundation budget, including revenue and associated costs associated with key spend areas such as marketing.
Develop strategies to identify and secure donations from a range of stakeholders.
Manage the servicing of bequests including providing regular updates on the progress of projects they are supporting.
Ensure effective engagement activities with existing and potential benefactors, including the preparation of a Foundation Event Calendar as well as the participation in Club match day and marquee events.
HOSPITALITY SALES & MANAGEMENT
Develop strategies and annual budgets across the GIANTS hospitality portfolio.
Develop and implement a lead generation and sales strategy to grow sales opportunities related to GIANTS corporate hospitality and major events.
Manage existing relationships with customers to secure and maintain investment.
Work closely with the commercial team to deliver entitlements due to commercial partners. Ensure that the servicing standards are agreed to and exceeded.
Maintain relationships with venue in order to deliver the best possible match day experience with KPIs to include but not be limited to customer satisfaction, cost to club and retention.
Maintain a close relationship with the AFL across hospitality portfolio management, with reference to finals ticketing and special events.
