You will be required to provide health, safety and environmental knowledge, advise and specialist support in order to ensure the effective management of Health, Safety and Environmental requirements. To facilitate and co-ordinate HSE training and to ensure compliance related training is maintained for the Hastings site.

You will contribute to the success of Opal by:

- To ensure that the company’s policies are promoted, understood, implemented and maintained at all levels
- Conduct regular site audits to ensure compliance to company policies and legislative requirements
- Ensure the Company’s Environmental policies are understood and adhered to by all staff, including all contractors
- Lead and support the site in safe work practices and environmental management
- Be familiar and ensure compliance with Opal Kiwi Packaging’s HS&E policies and procedures
- Always observe safe work practices, adhere to safety and environmental rules and procedures and to continually look for ways to improve
- Ensure the HSE Document Management Systems is up to date
- Maintain the site HSE compliance data via the current system (Assure / Mango / Chemwatch / Linksafe / Sharepoint)
- Monitor and report on HSE key performance indicators
- Assist in the preparation of annual HSE budgets

- Proven experience in the implementation of HSE management systems, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Personal drive and self-motivation
- Ability to provide HSE solutions between parties
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Results orientated
- Committed to continuous improvement in HSE
- Flexible and proactive
- Good computer skills
- Organisational/Priority Setting skills
- Strong Attention to Detail
- Strong communication skills (written and oral)
- Interpretation of standards and legal information
- Experience of ACC, ISO 14001 & 45001
