**Job Description**:
We have an opportunity for a logistics Assistant to join our Steel division in Hastings Victoria. This role is an entry-level position and offers ample opportunities for growth. The primary responsibility of this role is to co-ordinate local freight deliveries, communicating important information to drivers as given to by the transport supervisors. This role will assist the operations team Monday - Friday (5am-1.30pm).

As the Logistics Assistant, you will:

- Assist with Cost efficient and effective allocation of equipment to achieve daily work requirements
- Inform drivers as to what must be loaded, as well as safe and secure methods of accomplishing loading in an efficient and effective manner
- Monitor pickups and deliveries ensuring customers and relevant personnel are promptly advised of inability to achieve planned requirements
- Perform a daily check of information on the driver’s run sheets to ensure they are correct, complete and then authorise and forward to administration
- Effectively complete Incident/Accident reports in TRAC in detail and communicate to team and customer that will affect delays
- Provide coverage for the Fleet Controller in their absence

**Qualifications**:
To be successful in this role, you will need:

- Transport/Logistics industry experience (highly desirable)
- Computer software knowledge (Microsoft suite)
- Customer Service / Communications experience
- HSE understanding & load restraint understanding (highly desirable)
- A positive attitude, quick learner, adaptability and reliability and the ability to act quickly under pressure
