**About the Role**
The Manager Planning and Impact Assessment is accountable to the Director Policy, Assessment and Finance for the strategic direction and management of the Planning and Impact Assessment Branch.

The Manager plays a key role in ensuring that the EPA’s input to the planning system considers the objects of the _Environment Protection Act 1993_ and associated general environmental duty, relevant environment protection policies and the state’s waste strategy.

The Manager is part of the EPA’s leadership team and has extensive contact with other government departments, the State Planning Commission, local councils, applicants and their consultants, and the public.

The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) is South Australia’s independent environment protection regulator. The organisation works to protect, restore and improve the environment through the risk-based regulation of pollution, waste, noise and radiation. The EPA works closely with industry, the community and government to protect the unique natural environment while supporting economic growth and improving wellbeing. The EPA is responsible for the administration of the _Environment Protection Act 1993_ (EP Act) and the _Radiation Protection and Control Act 2021_ (RPC Act) and also exercises responsibilities under other South Australian planning and environmental legislation.

**Essential Qualification**
- Recognised degree in planning, science, engineering, natural resources or equivalent.

**Desirable Qualifications and Selection Criteria**
- Recognised postgraduate qualification in planning or environmental management.
- Experience with environmental impact assessment processes.
- Good working knowledge of the South Australian _Environment Protection Act 1993_ and associated Environment Protection Policies.
- Broad knowledge of pollution and waste management issues and environment protection measures, practices and procedures.

**Remuneration**
PO5 ($122,610- $128,328 per annum) + 11% super added to your choice of super fund.
