An exciting opportunity is available for **a Visiting Medical Officer - Primary Care** **to join our service at the Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network.

We are looking for a qualified health care professional with:
Current medical registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practice (RACGP) or Australasian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM)Proof of recognition as a specialist by the Specialists Recognition Advisory Committee AwardDemonstrated significant experience in General Practice with knowledge of contemporary clinical management and modern approaches in assessment and management of the broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Previous experience in emergency medicine, general practice, adult internal medicine, or rural medicine is an advantage.

The **Visiting Medical Officer** **- Primary Care** **is responsible for the provision of general medical services to patients within correctional environments in Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network facilities. The position will work collaboratively with the Nursing Unit Manager (NUM), Service Director Primary Care and Clinical Director Primary Care to enhance the existing services in line with organisational needs and best practice.

**Our Location**

The **South Coast Correctional Centre (SCCC)** is a 600-bed facility that houses male offenders in minimum, medium, and maximum-security areas, usually those sentenced locally and/or with family and community ties. The SCCC is in South Nowra, approximately 168km south of Sydney and 5km from the Nowra CBD. The SCCC provides accommodation for inmates as well as services and programs for recreation, education, and employment.
