**The Role**
Do you want to work in an area where each day reveals new opportunities to work on some of the biggest issues facing Defence?

Do you want to contribute to improving evidence-based decision making for Defence’s most senior leaders?

Do you want to work with smart and dedicated people from all walks of life to defend Australia and its national interests and have opportunities to pursue new and exciting pathways?

Enterprise Evaluation Branch in Enterprise Transformation and Governance Division is seeking enthusiastic and motivated analysts to join its Enterprise Risk and Continuity, and Enterprise Performance teams.

In these roles, you will transform the way we assess risk and performance, aligning it with Defence’s highest priorities and delivery of the forthcoming National Defence Strategy. The opportunity and impact you can have in these roles is very rare in both the public and private sector. You will work at the centre of Defence, at the intersection of our most senior leaders and our 17 Services and Groups, influencing and championing the important aspects of these functions and engaging in new and adaptive approaches.

Using your creativity, critical thinking, problem solving, communication and partnership building skills, you will deliver enterprise-level performance, risk and business continuity advice and strategic insights to senior leaders, helping to solve some of the most critical challenges facing the organisation.

**About our Team**
The Enterprise Risk and Continuity team provides expert advice and delivers Defence’s policy setting for risk and business continuity, including the Defence Risk Management Policy and Framework and the Defence Enterprise Business Continuity Policy and Framework. It develops and implements new approaches to aligning risk management across the organisation and strengthening whole-of-Defence risk intelligence, and develops and conducts business continuity exercises to test the organisation’s responsiveness to disruptions.

The Enterprise Performance team delivers Defence’s approach to performance, including developing performance measures, targets and methodologies. The team is leading the transformation of whole-of-Defence performance measurement to ensure Defence measures what matters most and is building an analytical capability to deliver effective assessments that support senior leader decision making. The team also supports public transparency through the design and delivery of the Defence Corporate Plan and Annual Report.

In order to succeed in the role, you will have:

- Excellent leadership and the ability to build, maintain and contribute to collaborative, high performing teams who see the bigger picture and push boundaries to develop creative solutions to complex problems.
- Initiative and problem-solving skills with ability to deliver results, and a commitment to learning and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated stakeholder relationship, engagement and outreach skills, including the ability to collaborate and bring innovative approaches to our work.
- Strong judgement and strategic thinking skills, including strong policy, research, analysis and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to communicate with influence including written and oral communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- An interest in and/or experience working on performance measurement, monitoring and evaluation, risk management, business continuity or organisational resilience.
