**The Role**
This is an exciting and dynamic position for an experienced contract management professional. Supporting Land Command, Control, Communication and Computer Systems (C4) Program, the EL 1 Contract Manager will have a working knowledge of the contract management function, including supporting finance activities, exercise a considerable degree of independence and perform a leadership role.

The successful applicant will be an integral part of the Land C4 Integration (LC4I) SPO, and will be responsible for the governance, management and delivery of commercial outcomes across the SPO, in accordance with Defence strategic direction.

Key responsibilities will include, but not limited to, the following:

- Provide advice, direction, strategy, schedule management and services for commercial policy, procedures, legal, financial investigation and other requirements to support commercial management outcomes.
- Lead simple and complex negotiations, monitor, manage and report on commercial administration, performance and risks against the contract and contribute to appropriate action.
- Manage and lead a team, including providing clear and consistent communication, managing performance and delegating responsibility.
- Prepare and manage finance and budget inputs in support of Land4140 procurement and contracting activities including establishing Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), contract purchase orders, invoicing and reporting through Defence finance system MyFi (or equivalent over time).

The Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) is an integral part of the Department of Defence. This group purchases and maintains military equipment and supplies as required by Defence. Within CASG, Land C4 Systems Branch under Joint Systems Division (JSD) is an exciting and complex environment, offering a rewarding career in one of the most dynamic organisations within CASG. Key attributes and experience we are looking for:

- In-depth knowledge of and experience in complex contract management.
- Well-developed complex problem solving skills, demonstrated experience in identifying and addressing inefficiencies and an ability to contribute to strategic planning.
- Proven communication skills enabling engagement, negotiation and influence in representing the organisation and developing briefs and reports.
- Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining productive relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in the establishment and management of WBS, purchase orders, and financial and budgetary reporting. Experience in using the Defence finance system MyFi is desirable, but not essential.
- Effective leadership and team management skills.
- Experience working in an inclusive, diverse and integrated workforce.
