Tradewind is collaborating with a Secondary school located in Taylor's Lakes, positioned in the Western suburbs of Melbourne, to provide a 0.8/part-time General Science position starting this Term for grades 7-10. With around 1400 students spanning years 7-12, this school presents an excellent chance to become an essential member of a vibrant school community. **Key duties**:

- Develop and implement a comprehensive science curriculum aligned with educational standards and guidelines, covering various disciplines such as biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, and environmental science under the Victorian Curriculum.
- Create engaging and differentiated lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, incorporating hands-on experiments, demonstrations, and inquiry-based activities.
- Manage laboratory facilities and equipment, ensuring a safe and organized environment for conducting experiments and investigations. Teach students proper laboratory techniques, safety protocols, and ethical practices in scientific research.
- Design and administer assessments, tests, and experiments to evaluate students' understanding and mastery of scientific concepts and skills
- Engage in continuous professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in science education, teaching methodologies, curriculum developments, and technology integration. Attend workshops, seminars, and conferences relevant to science teaching.

**Skills & Experience**:

- Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
- Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
- Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Demonstrate previous experience in Secondary Science/Placement in Australia advantageous
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
