An exciting opportunity to join our fast-paced Logistics Team, comprising of personnel who work closely with members across NSW to provide much needed supplies to our volunteer members supporting fire and other emergencies. This role will be responsible for supervising a team that manages the logístical and operational readiness of equipment and transport for the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS). The role works closely with internal and external stakeholders, in line with department policies and standards, to facilitate the delivery of logístical support and services.
The primary functions of our Logistics unit include:
- Logistics and transport (day-to-day and operational)
- Risk management planning and strategy
- Supply chain management and reporting
- Inventory management
- Warehouse management and coordination
- Heavy plant operation and management
- Experience in optimising transport, logistics, and resource planning.
- Ability to foster a purpose-driven culture with a can-do attitude.
- You'll leverage your communication skills and proactive approach to guide decision-making and foster collaboration with stakeholders, driving organisational success.
- Your appreciation for working with a volunteer-based community service as well as RFS members will be a driving force in understanding the requirements and needs of operational readiness of NSW RFS assets.
During periods of major fire activity, the role will be required to provide additional support to operational management activities.

This role is based at the NSW Rural Fire Service State Warehouse, located in Glendenning. This role is 100% office based and may at times require some travel around NSW.
