Our client is a well-established and renowned centre for cutting technological advancements across a wide range of industries and operates a state-of-the-art facility in the southern Sydney region. This facility is at the forefront of materials science, contributing data and breakthroughs for many different uses to further innovation across the country. With a wide range of instruments including spectrometers, reflectometers and neutron scattering instruments, they are on the lookout for a an experienced Electrical Contractor to join the team on a an initial 12 month contract. This role would suit an electrician with significant control cabinet building experience as well as in-depth familiarity with PLCs.

Responsibilities include:

- Installing and conducting maintenance on PLC systems
- Carrying out testing and commissioning to existing protocols
- Providing advice on cable planning, as well as maintaining and deploying chains
- Fault finding on PLC and SCADA systems
- Adjusting control cabinet systems to accommodate new hardware
- Ordering electrical equipment and providing recommendations on spare parts
- Install, calibrate and test instrumentation systems from designs
- Plan maintenance and conduct repairs and upgrades around usage schedules

To be considered for this role you will ideally have:

- Australian electrical trade licence
- Electrician background with a focus on PLCs and control cabinets
- Familiar with SCADA and PLC programming
- Significant experience in field cabling, building and wiring electrical control cabinets]
- CAD experience to sketch control system circuits would be highly regarded
