**The Opportunity**:
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a small agency where you will have a lot of exposure and opportunity to SES and senior leaders. In this role you will have the opportunity to work on a strategic workforce plan and be part of the design and implementation.

**The Role**:
The Strategic Human Resources Practitioners provide strategic advice to senior leaders and people managers on workplace and workforce management initiatives and transformation activities directed at improving the employees’ experience of work, the performance of teams, and the capability of the agency.

You will be providing advice on their area of expertise, and developing and implementing strategies, interventions and tools to enable business ownership of these activities. Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

- Partner with the business and with peers in People & Culture to develop and implement innovative and high-quality HR solutions which supports strategic vision and the improvement of people management practices
- Provide strategic advice and support to people managers during a period of significant agency transition
- Establish and maintain partnerships with internal stakeholders by providing accurate information, advice and assistance to managers and employees on specific people management issues having regard to legal and policy framework, and strategic direction
- Participate in networks and manage relationships with external stakeholders such as unions or with other APS agencies, where they relate to employment matters
- Lead and provide support to agency and People & Culture initiated projects
- Identify operational HR process improvements and efficiencies
- Lead and develop team members

**Your Background and Experience**:
To be successful for this role you will have experience in:

- Workforce Planning and Analytics
- Talent Management and Capability Development (including learning and development, and diversity and inclusion)
- Employee Relations
- Organisational Design
- People Partnering
- Change Management
- HR Helpdesk and Payroll

A tertiary qualification in a relevant field of study such as Human Resource Management, Change Management or Organisational Psychology, or extensive experience in Human Resources, change management or a related discipline is highly desirable.

**Salary / Rate**:

- $102k - $120k + 15.4% Super
- 18 month non ongoing contract, s26 permanent or temp transfer
