This is a full time permanent position based in Blackburn, enjoy hybrid WFH conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Safety Management System Development: Lead the continuous development and refinement of the Safety Management System in accordance with ISO4001 and ISO4003, ensuring it is designed with end users in mind.
- Safety Culture Development: Lead initiatives to foster a safety climate where personnel feel valued, responsibilities are clear, and safety is a high priority.
- Tool and Technology Integration: Oversee the selection, implementation, and optimisation of tools and technology that support safety management.
- Safety Verification Coordination: Coordinate and schedule internal safety audits, critical controls effectiveness reviews, and other key safety assurance activities.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the SMS and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Ensure that safety processes are streamlined and aligned with best practices.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to team members on the use of safety tools and systems. Ensure that all personnel are equipped with the knowledge and resources needed to adhere to safety protocols.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure that safety systems and practices comply with relevant regulations and standards. Prepare and present safety performance report and insights to management. Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in organisation-wide safety projects, including developing content for safety training.

About You
- Qualifications - Degree in Allied Health, WHS, HR, Management or equivalent desirable.
- Experience: Proven experience in safety management, risk assessment, and system development, with a strong background in designing and implementing safety management systems.
- User-Centric Design: Ability to design systems and tools that are intuitive and user-friendly, with a focus on adding value for end users/frontline personnel.
- Analytical Skills: Strong data analytics and problem-solving skills, with experience in creating audit schedules and control effectiveness reviews.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Strong stakeholder engagement abilities with a history of leading projects in large complex organisations.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in safety management tools and technology, with a track record of integrating these into operational processes. Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards. Safety IT systems, Power BI, Office365 and SharePoint advantageous.
