Environment Information Australia (EIA) has a vision to lead on, and be an enduring source of shared national, trusted and accessible environment data and information for nature positive outcomes. We are dedicated to unlocking the full value of environment data. Our goal is to assist regulators, researchers, policymakers, investors, and proponents in accessing relevant environment data precisely when needed, serving its intended purpose effectively. This will enable us to effectively track and report on environmental outcomes.

The Environment Information Strategy and Policy (EISP) Branch was recently established to lead on several high-profile projects for EIA. The EISP Branch contains four Sections:

- Strategy and Engagement Section: delivers the strategic narrative of a robust evidence base that underpins the government’s commitment to nature and sustainable development, including through delivery of a data strategy to underpin Nature Positive.
- Foundations and Frameworks Section: established to enhance National Environment Information Supply Chains and the frameworks supporting them.
- Data and Information Standard Section: established to deliver the national Environmental Standard for Data and Information and associated Technical Guidance.
- EIA Integration Section: established to deliver EIAs internal and external presence, including communication and strategic products.

**The Job**
We are seeking multiple organised and enthusiastic APS 5 - Policy, Program and Project Officers to be part of the EISP Branch within the Strategy and Engagement Section, Foundations and Frameworks, Data and Information Standard Section and EIA Integration Section.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

- Contributing to the Branch’s corporate responsibilities, co-ordination requests, other administration, and maintenance of associated documentation.
- Establishing and maintaining strong networks across EIA and DCCEEW to facilitate department-wide coordination.
- Demonstrating professional integrity and a commitment to fostering diversity in the workplace.
- Contribution to new policy development and supporting the budget process.
- Supporting development of National Environment Data Strategy through research, analysis, communication products, project management and stakeholder engagement.
- Coordinating EIA's internal and external stakeholder engagement.
- Supporting secretariat and governance mechanisms related to environment data and information and the development of Technical Guidance.

**What we are looking for**
**Knowledge and experience**
- Demonstrated proficiency in coordination and organisational skills, evidenced by a history of achieving results, managing competing priorities and consistently meeting deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively liaise, consult and negotiate with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge and/or experience of providing secretariat support within government is highly desirable.

**Skills and capabilities**
- Demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated high quality policy writing is essential.
- Strong written communication skills including an ability to summarise information succinctly, for example, preparing meeting minutes.
- Demonstrated ability to operate as an effective member of a diverse team, exemplify genuine and supportive collaboration with stakeholders, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Willingness to learn.
- Resilience and adaptability with uncertainty on dynamic projects.
- Familiarity with visual software such as Mural and Microsoft Visio would be highly regarded but is not essential.

**Eligibility and other requirements**
**Citizenship**:

- To be eligible for employment with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water you must be an Australian citizen.

**Security Clearance**:

- This position requires a Baseline Vetting security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
