**The Role**
The Youth Development and Voyage Coordinator is a core member of the Young Endeavour Youth Scheme team, providing expertise pivotal to the effective management and delivery of the Young Endeavour Program.

Key responsibilities include:

- Undertaking research and program evaluation to inform recommendations, implement changes and update the Youth Development Program Manual and Resource Guide;
- Developing STS Young Endeavour’s annual voyage schedule, liaising with Navy and external stakeholders to balance competing priorities and optimise program delivery;
- Managing the biannual ballot (selection of youth participants) and reporting on participation, diversity, accessibility and participant outcomes;
- Developing staff training packages (online) and presenting research and program updates (in person) to colleagues and stakeholders;
- Coordinating community day sails, international exchanges, corporate training and young leaders programs;
- Writing policies, decision briefs, board papers and other business documents.

The Youth Development and Voyage Coordinator also participates in an out-of-hours duty roster when STS Young Endeavour is at sea, and will join two voyages each year (requiring an assessment of fitness for duty at sea).

**About our Team**
The Young Endeavour Youth Scheme is a Commonwealth program that provides young Australians aged 16-23 with a challenging and inspirational experience at sea aboard the national Sail Training Ship Young Endeavour. Participants develop enduring skills which improve their capacity to participate in education, employment, and civic life.

We are a small team of APS personnel and Naval Reservists, and are responsible for creating the youth development program and voyage plan; selecting and administering the youth who participate; marketing and community engagement; and commercial operations. We work closely with the Navy crew and capability management and sustainment team, and are passionate about delivering a world class development program for a diverse range of young Australians.

As we celebrate 35 successful years, the Young Endeavour Youth Scheme is preparing for the introduction into service of a new, larger, state-of-the-art sail training ship - meaning more young Australians will be able to access our world class youth development program.

We are looking for a proactive team player who brings expertise in youth program development and delivery as well as operational planning and coordination; and can work collaboratively to achieve results during a period of organisational change and program expansion.
- Demonstrate personal accountability, and the ability to manage competing priorities and execute initiatives to achieve outcomes;
- Enjoy working under limited direction in a fast paced, hybrid work environment;
- Be team orientated, with strong interpersonal skills, capable of working with a wide variety of customers and stakeholders;
- Have proven research skills, a good level of computer literacy, and experience analysing and presenting data to inform program development;
- Bring operational planning experience in the maritime environment, outdoor education sector or similar;
