The Forest Planning Officer will provide high quality cultural, social, economic, environmental management and planning services in the Values and Assets Planning Team.

The purpose of this role is to support delivery of regulatory tasks to better manage the potential impacts on State forest values. This will be done through forest regulation and utilisation programs and support the management of timber harvesting operations across the region.

The Forest Planning Officer will work with the Values and Assets Team, the Regional Forest & Fire Planning Unit & the Forest, and Forest Fire Operations units to ensure the consistent, integrated, and efficient delivery of forest and fire management planning services across FFRG.

The Forest Planning Project Officer will actively contribute to a high performing culture and support a positive, open, delivery focused team that values and supports people and is based on collaboration, accountability, and trust.

**Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications**
- Capability and understanding of databases and mapping tools, or a desire to learn.
- Qualifications and expertise related to natural resource management strategic planning or a related environmental field are desirable.

**This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2024. The work location for this position is flexible within the Port Phillip Region, Victoria.**
