We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forest and Fire Operations Officer – Field Team Leader to join our team at the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action. As a key member of our Forest and Fire Operations (FFOO) team, you will play a critical role in leading work groups, coordinating operations, and ensuring the effectiveness of our workcentres.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage field work delivery teams to achieve operational objectives.
- Develop and implement strategies for natural resource management, including forest management and fire prevention activities.
- Coordinate and direct a wide range of activities, including emergency response and planned burning operations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve shared goals and objectives.
- Current manual driver's license (conditions A, I & V not acceptable for employment).
- Demonstrated experience and understanding in leading field work delivery teams.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding in natural resource management, preferably with good knowledge of forest management/forest operations.
- Ability to achieve accreditation and maintain competencies in Crew Leader/Operations Officer Level 1.
We offer a competitive salary ranging from $66,265 to $74,200 per annum, plus superannuation. You will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive team environment, with opportunities for professional growth and development.
