Salary Range: $79,764 - $85,074 + Attractive Superannuation
The Defence Service Homes (DSH) Insurance Scheme is a national scheme providing home building insurance to eligible veterans, war widows and Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel. The team consists of five core business areas that include Products, Pricing and Underwriting, Sales and Policy, Claims, Marketing and Communications and Finance and Accounts.
The Sales & Policy team are responsible for providing general advice to clients on their home and other insurance needs.
They respond to enquiries from clients, both written and over the phone, provide quotes and sell policies for a range of general insurance products. This includes the DSH Insurance home building residential insurance policy, which is exclusively for those who have served in the Australian Defence Force.
This team works cross functionally with other teams in DSH Insurance and is responsible for the administration of policies, including providing services such as payment collection, endorsements and cancellations of policies.
**Duties**
- Focus on providing general advice to clients on their home and other insurance needs and respond to enquiries from clients and providers, via all correspondence methods
- Provide quotes and processing insurance policies on all product lines within authority levels and service and underwriting standards
- Participate in a roster to ensure national phone coverage is provided during operating hours of 8.00am to 7.00pm
- Prepare written responses on insurance matters as required
- Complete follow up tasks and reviews and manage existing policies and sales activities within required time frames
- Participate in agreed projects which seek to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of DSH Insurance’s business operations as required
- Contribute to setting team goals and work practises including monitoring own performance against these goals and ensuring advice provided is compliant with the established Standard Operating Procedures
- Actively represent DSH Insurance and promote the benefits provided
- Provide support to the Senior Insurance Adviser/management as required
**Eligibility**
- Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS).
- All applicants external to DVA offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a pre-engagement screening check, even if they have a security clearance. The screening check is conducted in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework requirements.
**Notes**
Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for an initial specified term of up to18 months.
A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created which may be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months.
