Sheriff's Officers contribute to the provision of a high level of client services to all court users and to the overall security of Courts Administration Authority facilities, administrative personnel, members of the judiciary and other court users.

Sheriff's Officers contribute to an effective support service by performing all duties of a multi-skilled Sheriff's Officer including in court support, prisoner security, in court management of prisoners, court precinct security and point of entry searching.

Your role will involve maintaining order within the courtroom, attending to the needs of witnesses and other individuals involved in court proceedings, and providing exceptional customer service and information to all court users.

Additionally, you will oversee emergency evacuations of court buildings, ensuring the safety of all individuals present and responding to other emergency situations.

There is no shift work or required weekend work, so you can spend public holidays and Christmas with your family and friends.

**Special Conditions**
- This is a term contract for up to 6 months with the possibility of being extended.
- This is a Part-time position (minimum of 15 hours per week) - successful applicants will work 3 days a week for a minimum of 5 hours per day, predominantly Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and the occasional Thursday.
- Appointment is under the _Courts Administration Act, 1993._ Terms and conditions of employment are governed by the _Public Sector Act, 2009._
- This role is identified as a Prescribed Position and the successful applicant is required to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC) prior to employment with CAA, which must be renewed every five years before expiry.
- As a justice agency, the CAA may receive details of spent convictions as part of any Criminal History Screening and use this information in the selection process.
- Incumbents will be provided with training in all aspects of the Sheriff’s Officer role and will be required to participate in ongoing refresher training as per Sheriff’s Office policy.
- Sheriff’s Officers hold an appointment as a security officer pursuant to the _Sheriff’s Act, 1978._
- Will be required to wear full regulation issued uniform.
- Is required to hold current certificates in HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support and HLTAID011 Provide First Aid or willing to obtain these certificates.
- May be required to work in alternate locations at the discretion of the Sheriff or due to the requirements of the courts.
- May be required to work outside of the normal hours of work and undertake intrastate travel, which may necessitate overnight absences.
- Appointees will be required to disclose their COVID-19 vaccination status.

OPS2 - $56,987 - $61,301 per annum (adjusted to actual hours worked)
