**The Team**

The role is located in the AEC Murray Bridge office and works closely with the two other SA locations in Adelaide CBD, and Port Augusta. Working from this regional office, you will be part of a small team responsible for managing key operational aspects of maintaining the electoral roll and forward planning for future electoral events for South Australian electoral divisions, and in particular the Federal Division of Barker.

When electoral events are announced, staffing rapidly expands to deliver these significant logístical events, which involve managing high risk and large-scale projects with increased pressure, media, public scrutiny, short timeframes and multiple independent logístical activities.

**The Opportunity**

We are seeking a versatile and energetic person to undertake a range of administrative functions including processing general and special categories of enrolment, completion of administration and data entry work, contributing to the planning and execution of key election activities and projects, and providing office support to our divisional office in Murray Bridge.

Reporting to their Team Leader and working closely with colleagues from other SA divisional offices, the Service Officer is responsible for maintaining the Australian electoral roll, supervision of APS1-2 staffs within their designated office and delivering a public facing service as required.

During the election event delivery phase, local workforce responsibilities increase, and the Service Officer will also be required to supervise and provide training to Temporary Election Workforce (TEW), while also contributing to operational delivery plans for their division, and the smooth running of event operations in their nominated out posted centre (OPC) under the direction of a Divisional Returning Officer (DRO).

Some intrastate travel will be required, including a requirement to work in Adelaide from one of our elections out posted centres or metropolitan office for a period of 4-6 weeks during electoral events, and for professional development as required. Additional hours and weekend work are also required during electoral events.
