**Assistant to the Trade & Investment Commissioner - Temporary Staff member to assist with the Belgian Economic Mission 2023**

**Exciting opportunity to consolidate your practical experience in international trade in the context of an official economic delegation to Australia. You will engage with local government, industry stakeholders and organisatons.**

Flanders Investment & Trade Australia is a government agency from Flanders (northern region of Belgium). We assist Flemish companies that want to export or expand to Australia and we attract Australian companies to invest in our region.

Reporting to the Trade & Investment Commissioner, the Assistant will be a point of contact for Flemish organizations and businesses joining the Belgian Economic Mission to Australia (Sydney-Melbourne, 22-27 October 2023) and Australian counterparts.

**Duties**
- Prepare market research;
- Communicate in writing and by telephone with Australian orgnisations to create B2B programs for Flemish companies;
- Co-organise business and formal events hosted by the Flemish region and attended by a variety of guests;
- Coordinate Flemish content and participation during events organised by Belgian federal and regional governments;
- Practical event management duties (e.g. creating and managing contact and guests lists, venue selection, transfers of Flemish delegates, etc);
- Assist with launch and delivery of marketing campaign to promote Flemish event capabilities and expertise.

**Skills**
- Excellent communication skills, both in writing and on the telephone;
- Very strong planning and organisational skills;
- Ability to manage expectations in a positive and constructive way;
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced working environment;
- Ability to work in a team with members located in Melbourne, Singapore and Brussels;
- Attention to detail.

**Requirements**:

- At a minimum, Bachelor degree;
- Good knowledge of MS Word and office. Experience with SharePoint, Teams and Dynamics 365 would be a plus;
- Min 2 years of work experience;
- Excellent English skills - Knowledge of Dutch/Flemish is a plus, but not a must
- Existing valid Australian working permit

Flanders Investment & Trade Australia offers a fixed term, full-time employment agreement, commencing 1 July 2023 and ending on the 10th of November 2023.

Contract length: 4 months

**Salary**: $3,992.15 - $6,239.06 per month

- Monday to Friday
