**Our opportunities**
This is a great opportunity to further your career in protective security at the Attorney General's Department. Prior knowledge of protective security and the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) is advantageous.

The key duties of a Personnel Security Adviser include:

- managing a small team responsible for the provision of the department’s personnel security functions, including facilitating security clearances and pre-employment screening processes
- contributing towards the establishment of the department’s insider threat management program
- providing advice to a broad range of stakeholders on security policies and procedures in line with the PSPF, including Senior Executives, Royal Commissions and individual line areas
- identifying and reporting on emerging security issues, incidents and trends, providing suggested solutions where applicable
- maintaining relevant security policies which consider the needs of all employees
- undertaking risk assessments and documenting and communicating the outcomes to relevant stakeholders
- monitoring and reporting on the department’s security performance
- preparing briefings and presenting at a range of forums and committees on internal projects
- developing and conducting or facilitating appropriate security awareness training programs
- establishing and maintaining personnel security aftercare measures, and
- managing security incidents and conducting, facilitating or assisting security investigations.

An ongoing position will be offered as a result of this process.

The Personnel Security Advisor reports to an Assistant Agency Security Advisor (EL1).
