**About the service**:
The Wollongong Mental Health Hub is a brand-new community mental health and wellbeing service, providing community outreach and in HUB supports. We are open to everyone in the community for mental health support. Participants can access a range of community mental health support services; clinical mental health services; care coordination and Peer supports.

**Role Overview**:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a brand-new service, supporting clients with mental health issues in the Wollongong area.
- The Community Engagement Coordinator seeks opportunities to reach out to people with mental health issues and the communities that support them
- Provide health education, raise mental health literacy and community awareness and link people to appropriate services.
- Develop, facilitate and evaluate a range of community events, and health and education programs. Designed to improve mental health literacy and community awareness of the challenges faced by people with mental health issues. In order to increase early identification and help people gain early access to appropriate services.
- Establish interagency partnerships and wider referral pathways
- You will work closely with our multi-disciplinary team to understand the services that the Wollongong Mental Health Hub provides, to advocate our services to the community
- Outreach work in the community is a large proportion of the role

**Requirements**:

- Ideally Bachelors/Diploma in a Community services related discipline or a relevant Cert IV with substantial experience
- Experience in a similar role working with people with mental health issues
- Experience in planning, developing and delivering of high-quality education, training, and community awareness programs and activities
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills showing an ability and sensitivity to work with and engage a variety of different people and stakeholders
- Proven ability to work creatively, collaboratively and effectively as a member of a team
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Excellent verbal communication and written skills, including the ability to identify potential funding sources and write the appropriate grant submissions
- Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a WWCC
- Current Driver’s License
