Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical/dental practitioners for the above position (s) in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District. The position will be primarily located at **Nepean Hospital**_ _**within the Department of **Orthopaedics.**

The number of sessions will be minimum 1 elective session a fortnight for waitlist management cases only and in addition participation in the management of on call roster**.** Appointees may be eligible for credentialing and privileging across all other facilities in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.

**Selection Criteria**

1. Possess or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

2. Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) (Orthopaedics) and/or equivalent specialist recognition as provided for by the Health Insurance Act 1997 and Public Hospitals (Visiting Medical Officers Sessional Contracts) Determination and Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position.

3. Sound clinical knowledge in Orthopaedics Scope of Practice demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position including evidence of participation in quality assurance activities relevant to the specialty and possess subspecialty training in the field of Orthopaedic Upper Limb Surgery.

4. Demonstrate evidence of at least five years’ experience as an Orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialist experience in the field of Orthopaedic Upper Limb Surgery.

5. High level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability working within a large Orthopaedic department and with other medical and surgical specialties and allied health staff.

6. Demonstrated commitment to teaching and junior medical staff supervision consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards.

7. Demonstrates the skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner including modelling of a high standard of professional behaviour to junior medical staff.

8. Demonstrate evidence of involvement in leadership positions in the field of Orthopaedic surgery.
